The new series of Tuba Büyüküstün, The Great Ottoman Empire, was presented in style in Istanbul a day before its premiere on Netflix, at the end of January. Very elegant, Tuba Büyüküstün, chose a pink blouse with transparencies and a sober black long skirt, which she combined with heeled shoes in the same dark shade and a red bag.

Tuba caused a sensation on the red carpet, which also passed the rest of the cast that worked with her in the production: the protagonist Cem Yiğit Üzümoğlu, a promising actor who with only three projects in his career has already participated in another international of the category of the protector; Birkan Sokullu, whom we met as Mustafa in Elif and who in this series plays Giovanni Giustiniani; in the role of Ana, Damla Sönmez, who currently acts in Çukur; UshanÇakir, whom we met as Emre Çelen in Stiletto Vendetta and who plays Zaganos Pasha in this series; and Selim Bayraktar, also of Stiletto Vendetta (Edip) and here the influential vizier Çandarlı Halil Pasha, among others.

Tuba Büyüküstün, in the role of Sultan Mara Hatun
The mini series of only six chapters has been very well received among Netflix viewers, who are already asking for a second season of history. The production was recorded in English as it is produced by Netflix of Great Britain and not by Netflix of Turkey. In the beginning it was going to be a series in English, but the director decided that a Turk should be the protagonist, since there is talk of the conquest of Constantinople.

The great Ottoman Empire tells the epic campaign of the Ottoman Sultan Mehmed II to seize the Byzantine capital, Constantinople, and change the course of history. In the role of the important sultana of those years, Mara Hatun, we will see Tuba discovering a less known part of Turkish history, as was the great influence that this woman had thanks to the proximity between her and Mehmed, son of her husband, and that continued during the reign of Mehmed's successor, Beyazid II. Mara was married to Sultan Murad II, but Mehmed was not her son but another of his previous women.

The boy, who rose to the throne as a child with 13 years, became one of the most powerful emperors of the empire and conquered Istanbul. He was often advised with Mara Hatun, who felt very close.
