'Hercai' will have a third season

The popular Turkish series Hercai, which recounts the impossible love between Miran (Akin Akinözü) and Reyyan (Ebru Sahin) in the midst of some ancestral traditions still anchored in the Turkish rural environment, will have a third season. The first season has a total of 12 episodes. The second has 13 and is still being broadcast in Turkey, on the ATV network, where the last episode It could arrive at the end of May.

The new season of Hercai will be released in Turkey foreseeably in September of this year. Thanks to its high ratings, which have turned this novel into a social phenomenon in their country and a great bet also abroad, the producers have decided to continue with the story of Miran and Reyyan, and the baby they are going to have in the second season.

A novel with wonderful settings and a love story with revenge


The history of this series, which shows wonderful natural settings of the Midyat area in Mardin, begins with a wedding between two members of very powerful families of the place, but revenge will be behind that marriage. Miran's parents died because of Reyyan's family and he decides to conquer her and marry her to take revenge and harm what her parents' murderer most loves: her daughter. Although they love each other, Miran's desire for revenge will be stronger than everything else.


One of the successes of the novel is the history and culture that are shown in it: ancient and archaeological sites, fabulous mansions ... In addition Mardin is one of the most important tourist spots in Turkey. The plot is based on a book with the same title of the author Sümeyye Koç, which was a bestseller in 2012. Although the work tells a tragic end to the story of Miran and Reyyan, the  producers decided to make changes to as the chapters progressed and it is not yet known what end it will have.


Hercai has been so successful that it has recently been voted by the public of the Turkish magazine Gecce as the Best Turkish series of 2019. The series competed in the survey with another 30 Turkish titles, but managed to be the winner with 33.5% of the votes. In addition, readers also voted Akin Akinözü and Ebru Sahin as Best Turkish actor and actress of 2019.
